EarthPulse shows events with an observation in the last 7 days, so a fire that has stopped being updated drops off the list even if it is technically still burning.
How EarthPulse uses NASA EONET →What does "tracked for" mean?
"Tracked for" measures the time between the first and latest EONET observations available for an event. It does not necessarily represent the full physical duration of the wildfire.
Does EarthPulse show every wildfire?
No. It shows the notable events NASA EONET has logged a recent observation for — a curated feed, not a complete real-time census of every fire on the planet.
